ABOUT

I’ll refer to myself in this journal as M.  I was born in the American South and now live in a large Midwestern city.  I have the incalculable privilege to live in this place at this time in history, when generally if I feel like eating something, there’s a place and a way I can run out and get it.  That’s all anyone needs to know about me.

This is the view outside my kitchen window.

This is a journal and essay pit about eating and occasionally about cooking.  There will be no recipes or step-by-step instructions.  There will be no endorsements of specific brands of product or food reviews.  There will be no mention of any specific restaurant by name. 

If I don’t screw it up, there will be pictures of and yammering about what is good to eat and not a whole lot of other bullshit, which is in abundance among those who insist on documenting their feelings about food and in the world at large.
